This incredible and unique day tour will take you hiking in Cinque Terre, the five cliffside fishing villages, perched along an impossibly-scenic stretch of the Mediterranean, which area UNESCO World Heritage Site for good reason!
You will depart Florence by private air-conditioned motor coach to reach Corniglia and enter the Cinque Terre National Park. Corniglia lays on a small cape facing the sea and it is considered the most typical and characteristic village of the Cinque Terre, the only one without direct access to the sea. A challenging access to the town is the famous staircase “Lardarina” with its 377 steps!
Next stop will be Vernazza, with its tiny port surrounded by colorful houses, its charming piazza lined with good restaurants and bars. The hills around the village are characterized by very steeply-terraced olive groves which are said to produce among the finest olive oil in the country.
With a short train ride you will reach Monterosso. The village is closed between various hills (which go down to the sea), olive-trees, lemon-trees and above all vineyards which produce an excellent white wine. The municipality consists of two centers with two sand beaches: Fegina and Monterosso. It is really the ideal stop for a bath before to leave the Cinque Terre! Furthermore, the street along the sea is ideal for having a long walk.
Weather permitting a loverly boat ride along the coast will take you to Riomaggiore, where you will walk along the famous Via dell’Amore path. The “Lover’s Lane” is a walkway hanging above the sea which will take you to Manarola. Then you will return to Florence by motor coach.
